FAKIS

Fahrzeug-Kalkulations - und Informations - System Online
Online vehicle calculation and information system

Description:
FAKIS (online vehicle calculation and information system) is used to depict the current expense situation for construction models at the component level and to provide a start-of-production forecast. Within the scope of the target costing process, FAKIS can depict not only the targets but also the current state of costs, opportunities and risks. Another extremely important feature for precalculation is that data sets that are still missing in the parts list can be replaced with placeholder data sets and gradually be aligned with the original data sets later on.
The application, which was developed by On-Ergy for Audi AG back in the eighties and initially came into operation on mainframes only, is now in its third generation. Under its current Name webFakis this application is used by Audi, Volkswagen, Seat and Skoda to make calculations on their construction models. With requirements constantly increasing, the application was turned into a 1:1 PC version that allowed all data coming from the mainframe to be viewed on a PC as well. As the utilization of the application grew steadily, it finally was restructured entirely and is thus now able to not only query but also to edit all data stored on the mainframe via the graphical interface of a PC. Thanks to the numerous interfaces it is now also possible to export all calculation data into common office applications. With webFakis spreadsheets of the individual development stages can be viewed and edited in form of reports on the screen. This allows full calculation of entire vehicle models before, during and after the development stage. The connectivity to systems like the design data management system allows a visual representation of vehicle components and construction plans. With the help of functions like the alignment of parts lists all components listed in the application data stocks can be aligned completely or model-restrictedly with other data sets. The user can control the alignment process manually. The intuitive tree-structured Java interface has gained great recognition which helped the application to quickly become the group's first choice.
