Description:
The AVON system (German abbreviation for order tracking online) is an efficient change management system which is used throughout the entire Volkswagen group.
Within the framework of vehicle development and production, the well-defined management of changes is of crucial importance to the whole Volkswagen group.
AVON was developed in order to avoid carrying out these processes manually or via various systems which would involve the risk of losing transparency with regard to processing statuses and evaluation contents.
Regarding the registered changes, AVON assures both technical and commercial evaluations and approvals from the perspectives of development, production, quality assurance, finances as well as other departments. All these are integrated into a coordinated processing and approval process. That way, the group-wide deployment unifies the handling of changes and ensures a high degree of efficiency.
The AVON system features a JAVA Swing-based user interface and integrates all evaluation and authorization processes.
